License Management

License Management

This chapter explains the concepts of telos service contracts and how to use registration codes.

Service Contracts

Each I2C board bought from telos has got a service contract. This service contract is valid for 12 months. It enables the user to get free I2C Studio software updates and support.

To benefit from additional capabilities in future releases or make use of support the service contract can be renewed.

To get prices please visit the telos homepage or get in contact with our sales department.

The service contract for a specific board is renewed by entering the according registration code delivered by telos.

Registration Codes

Registration Codes

Some telos I2C adapters like the Tracii XL can be provided with some add-on features to get more functionality, e.g. I2C high speed or analog tracing etc.

To activate such an add-on the customer gets a registration code after purchasing the according license. Registration codes are also required to renew a service contract or to enable a Tracii 400 board for I2C Studio.

Further more information about additional features and licenses can be found in the telos shop.

The dialog 'Registration' displays the service contract information and all activated board features. It provides the input form for entering new registration codes.

Entering Registration Codes

The dialog Registration displays service contract information as well as board features and provides an input form for entering new registration codes.

The dialog shows up when the menu item File|Registration is selected.

Registration Dialog

The dropdown list Select Board allows selecting a connected telos I2C board.

The list Licenses beneath shows each feature that is available for the selected board. The symbols on the left represent the availability state - green check for Ok and red slash for 'Not available'.

The column Service Contract contains the service contract expiration dates of these different features.

New registration codes can be entered in the field Registration Code. When Set is pressed, the registration code is applied to the selected board.

Instead of entering the registration code manually, it can be pasted from the clipboard via Paste From Clipboard.

Impotant Notes

  • Tracii 400 registration codes are stored by the I2C Studio application. They have to be entered when the board is connected for the first time to a certain personal comuter. When the board is connected to another personal computer, the registration code must be entered again.
  • Tracii XL/Connii (MM) registration codes are stored in the boards itself. Once, a registration code has been applied, the Tracii XL/Connii (MM) board can be connected to any personal computer without entering the registration code again.
  • Registration codes are accumulating. The latest registration code for a board always covers the features of former registration codes.
