Installing and updating the device driver
11-09-03 14:00

When installing I2C Studio, the device drivers for Connii and Tracii XL are not automatically installed. The driver files are simply copied into the "drivers" subdirectory of the application directory for I2C Studio. This does not apply to Tracii 400 devices.

When installing a new version, the driver needs to be updated by hand.

To do so, follow these steps:

1) Disconnect all Connii and Tracii XL except for one device.

2) Open the Windows Device Manager

3) Expand the node labelled "I2C"

4) Select the device (Connii or Tracii XL)

5) Open the properties

6) Select the tab "driver"

7) Click "update driver"

8) If prompted, navigate to the "driver" subdirectory of the application directory. For example C:\Program Files\telos EDV Systementwicklung GmbH\I2C Studio\drivers\

9) On some Versions of Windows, a dialogue will appear and warn you that this driver is not signed. This is normal and can be ignored.

This needs to be done only once. All Connii and Tracii XL devices will use this new driver from now on.
