Meaning of LEDs
28-08-02 13:22

Tracii 400 board has two LEDs - a green and a red one.

The red LED indicates that electrical power is present.

The green LED indicates that the boardīs internal logic was configured successfully.

Both LEDs work independently of any PC software and therefore should be on during operation of the board.

If the red LED is not on this indicates that either something is incorrect with the power supply or a fuse is broken.

If the red LED is on but the green one is off, this could be caused also by insufficient voltage on the power supply or the eeprom not beeing correctly inserted or otherwise damaged.

I have a board that the red LED comes on, the yellow one will come on briefly if I hit the reset button, but the greed LED never comes on. I have disconnected the board from the parallel port just to make sure that there is no interaction with the PC, and I have even put the EPROM on a programmer and verified the code against the image on your website. It appears to be OK, but it still wonīt work. Any other suggestions?

Are you sure that your input voltage is high enough? You will need at least 7,5 V at the power connector (the standard linear regulator on Tracii 400 reduces the input voltage at least by 3 V). If the voltage is to low, only the yellow and the red LED are on.

I have tried with the input voltage at 9V and by providing 5V at the I2C connector. Both produced the same result.

I guess that there is a problem with the firmware. Is it possible that you compare the EEPROM contents with the hex file on our web page?

If not we will send you a new EEPROM.
