Repetition of stop condition on a high-capacitive bus
26-06-03 11:57

The I2C bus is an open drain bus, which means that it is very sensitive against high capacitances on the bus. If the capacitances on the bus are getting too high, this will lead to slow rising edges. Tracii 400 will read back all signals and if the the rising edge is getting too low this will cause the following behaviour:

Tracii 400 won´t recognize its own stop condition in the case of slow rising edges. Hence it will repeat the generation of the stop condition up to 8 times. This is necessary for some I2C slaves, which will reset their I2C logic in case of an error after the 8th stop condition if they miss some SCL clocks.
