Tracii XL new

This month we released the most advanced I2C tool on the market. Tracii XL is both, an I2C monitoring tool and an advanced I2C bus master with outstanding features:

General:

  • Support of the I2C high-speed mode: In 1999 Philips Semiconductors, the inventor of I2C made another step extending the I2C usability introducing the high-speed mode.Tracii XL is the only I2C adapter on the market featuring this mode running the I2C bus with up to 2 Mbit/s.
  • Software controlled termination on SDA and SCL including special termination for the high-speed mode.
  • I2C bus voltages from 1,2V to 5,5V.
  • Adjustable I2C levels for logical one and zero.
  • Interfaces to your PC via USB.
  • Self-contained in a stainless steel case.

Adapter:

  • Read and write in master-mode.
  • Full support of environments with multiple I2C masters running the same I2C bus.

Option: High Speed:

  • Operating the I2C bus in high-speed mode with up to 2 Mbit/s.

Option: Digital Tracer:

  • Tracii XL can passively trace all activity on an I2C bus.
  • Records all data and events (such as start or stop condition) on the SDA/SCL lines with exact time stamp (333 ns resolution). Tracii XL does not need to be part of the I2C communication to monitor the bus, of course.
  • Master- and trace- functionality can be used at the same time on one Tracii XL.

Option: Analog Tracer:

  • Two channel oscilloscope with sampling rates from 24 kHz up to 12MHz. You can see what exactly is happening on your I2C bus.
  • 64 kSamples are stored per SDA / SCL with 8 bit resolution and a voltage range of 5,5V. The memory depth is significantly better than the one most oscilloscopes provide, e.g. the state-of-the art scope Tektronix TDS1002 has a record length of 2.5K only.
  • Trigger on I2C conditions start, stop and acknowledge.
  • Pre-trigger with 0 to 50%, i.e. 32767 samples equal to 2.7ms at 12MHz.

Several optional features - such as the oscilloscope functionality - can be licensed separately and are enabled simply by software control, no hardware changes are required. Thus, you may get new features without exchanging the product. There is an impressive software package coming with the product: I2C Framework, the library for writing applications on your own and I2C Studio, the powerful Windows application to use Tracii XL out of the box.

Connii - New Software Available For Free new

For the USB I2C adapter Connii telos provides two new software packages for free: I2C Framework, the library and I2C Studio, the Windows application.

I2C Studio new

I2C Studio is a brand new software which provides easy, convenient and seemless access to several telos I2C products. I2C Studio can be evaluated without physically having a telos I2C adapter. A virtual dummy adapter is available for this purpose.

  • Supports the telos I2C adapters Tracii XL and Connii
  • Supports a large number of view-modes for trace-data
  • Analog view of SDA/SCL for Tracii XL
  • Modern, .NET-based graphical user interface
  • Integrated scripting capability

I2C Framework new

The I2C Framework provides software libraries and APIs that enable your application to communicate with telos I2C products.

The C++ API can be used with Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 and 7.0 whilst the .NET API can be used with all compilers for Microsoft Windows supporting the new .NET technology like Microsoft Visual Studio.NET (containing C#, VB.NET, and managed C++).
