Dear Customer,
with this newsletter we are pleased to announce the availability of two great new products which complete our chain of I¦C support tools.
>>>>> CONNII - I¦C Fast Mode Interface for USB <<<<<
Connii is a small, compact, easy-to-use solution for a PC-driven I¦C transmitter and receiver.
This device functions as an I¦C single master device. It is connected to a PC via a standard USB port.
Both I¦C Standard Mode (100 kbit/s) and Fast Mode (400 kbit/s) can be selected as speed of operation.
A 68*41.5*27.5 mm plastic housing protects the device from damages. Connii does not require any external power supply.
Device drivers are available for Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Certain Linux environments are also supported. C- and Java-compliant application
programming interfaces (APIs) for rapid development of user-defined applications.
Windows developers can take advantage of an API that provides the services of the Connii devices in a COM-compliant manner.
Additionally Connii comes with Labview VIs for the different I¦C modes.
Sample applications written in Java, C and Visual Basic are available. They can be used directly to access I¦C slave devices or serve as a starting point for your own I¦C-related appications.
Connii has two connectors - one standard USB plug-in and one Mini-DIN connector for the I¦C wire-up.

III. Tips & Tricks
************************
1. Send Message with and without delay
The user can define several messages in the Tracii Talk application.
After the start button is pressed the messages will be sent in the given order.
The Tracii-Board sends the messages with a delay between the messages because each message has to be transmitted from the PC to the Tracii-Board seperately. To send two messages without a delay the user can define several messages in one command.
e.g. Message 50w, c, a, f, f, e, e, 60w, f, e, e.
These messages are sent with a repeated start condition (the start condition directly follows in the next clock after the acknowledge) and without delay between the messages.
2. Tracii and I2C addresses
The I¦C bus provides 7-bit addresses (7h..77h) and 10 bit addresses (>ffh).
Tracii Talk and Tracii Work feature addresses from 0 to 3ffh:
Tracii Talk:
* Addresses: 0 and 77h: Sends an address in the 7-bit address format
* Address >77h: Sends an address in the 10-bit address format
Tracii Work:
* Sends Message with the "SendRecMaster" API function:
* Addresses: 0 and 77h: Sends an address in the 7-bit address format
* Address >77h: Sends an address in the 10-bit address format
* Sends Message with the "SendRecMasterCondition" API function:
* The specified data are sent directly on the I¦C bus without any conversions.
All possible combinations of 7 and 10 bit addresses are available.
